We moved our ride event to to June this year in celebration of National Survivors month. We started at the Linglestown American Legion and held the event at the Jonestown American Legion. There were over 60 bikes and riders that enjoyed a 45 minute trip through the mountains and Fort Indiantown Gap. The ride was escorted by the Linglestown Post 272 riders with the help of The Dry Bones MC as blockers. The sun was shining and we were thankful for the air conditioned banquet hall. There were over 120 in attendance to share in our Survivorship celebration. Once again we had the famous pork sandwiches, Martin’s Snacks, and Sheetz cookies. Roots Beverage of Mt Joy donated plenty of waters and ice for all of the attendees. We heard from a survivor that is still struggling with the life changes of having a Breast Cancer diagnosis and shared how some days are just tougher than others after you ring the bell and try to adjust to a new “normal” you. We raffled a big Egg Swing, Room Air conditioner, Yeti Cooler, Picnic items, Jewelry from Andrews and Photography session for a rider and their bike as well as lots of other baskets that were created by our raffle committee or donated by various businesses and venues. There was also a beautiful necklace donated by Koser’s -Mt Joy that had a special raffle to win. We ended the event a little early to make sure the riders could get home safely before the thunderstorms came rolling through.
