The Penn State Lady Lions host an event for Breast Cancer Survivors every year. This gives survivors a chance to celebrate their Survivorship with many other survivors. I attended this year’s event with my son and over 400 other survivors. There were survivors only 60 days out and some that had over 40 years and many in between. We shared funny stories, scary stories. We also shared our experiences with the side effects of treatments, surgeries, and the many scans. Our common concerns are, will it return, adjusting to the NEW normal of our lives, the financial strain, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are just a few. These wonderful, amazing women were from all over Pennsylvania and I enjoyed talking and sharing with each of them.
