Meet DeAnna Massa, a 9-year Breast Cancer Survivor. She attended our first event at Dela-Ches Fishing Association and then became an active volunteer. Besides volunteering for our organization, she also volunteers at the Mt Joy Thrift and Gift. Before COVID-19, she volunteered at the Masonic Homes and Lancashire Terrace. There she pampered the residents as well as socializing with them.
In March of 2019, she took on the role as Secretary. Also becoming one of our “frugal” shoppers for raffle items. Besides looking for the best deals, she does not hesitate to ask for donations in hopes that she can add gift certificates and other items to the raffles. Her knack for finding those unique items and putting together an assortment of raffle baskets has been an added plus this year. Since due to the current environment, many small businesses have experienced financial losses. Making it difficult for them to donate as they have in prior years.
DeAnna has attended many outreach events with the organization to help raise Survivorship Awareness. In doing so, she has become an important member of our organization. One who is compassionate, supportive, and very knowledgeable when talking to other survivors. Her desire to make life easier for everyone she speaks with is one of her best qualities. This makes her just as unique as the raffles she puts together. Our organization is very thankful to have such an avid supporter and great friend. We are so very blessed to have her as a part of the team. She truly is a gem and a shining star!
